Lisondra Surname Meaning

User-submitted Reference

Lisondra is a conglomeration of centuries of linguistic communion. It is the result of the intermix of primarily three languages: Old Catalan Spanish (Las), Alexandrian Greek (Iond) and High Malay, spoken only by Malay royalty and higher nobility (Endra). The evolution of the surname began when learned Spanish scholars who spoke Catalan Spanish, their mother tongue, and old Greek journeyed to "the far East" during the expeditions to Asia. They then introduced the Catalan Spanish and Greek languages to the courts of the Malay royalties through poems, songs, and epic tragedies. The Spanish scholars eventually became courtiers of the Malay kings (and queens), even marrying some of the royal and noble men and women of the Malay courts. Studies reveal the initial form was a single-word sentence "Lasiondre," of creole origins, meaning 'the high noon sparkles like white gold, and blinds and illuminates, both, at the same time, like no other light — or darkness — can'.
