John Lock, professor of sacred theology in the University of St. Andrews in 1464 (SCM., V, p. 288), is probably the John Lok who appears in the same year and in 1474 as rector of the church of Fynnewyn or Futhnewyn (Finhaven) (REB., I, 196; II, 104) and in 1475 as professor of sacred theology and canon of Brechin (Soltre. p. 71). Johannes Lok, witness in Glasgow, 1504 (Simon, 68), George Lowk, tenant under the bishop of Glasgow in 1510 (Rental), Katherine Lok sold houses in Glasgow in 1544 (Protocols, I), and John Lock was burgess there in 1641 (Inquis., 2598). compare Luke.
