John, Robert, Simon, Henry Laurane or Laurone, and the fief of Lauraine, Normandy, 1180- 95 (Magni Rotuli Scaccarii Normanniae). Albert de Loraine (Lothariensis) was a baron in Hereford and Bedford 1086. Roger Loering was of Bedford 1165. In 13th cent. William Loharing was a benefactor of Gisborne Priory, York (Mon. ii. 151). In 1333 Eustace de Lorreyne was a Commissioner, Berwick-on-Tweed (Rot. Scotias, i. 260). The descent is traced by records to the family of Lorraine, Baronet.
