A Loxan-leáh (‘on Loxan-leáge’) occurs in a Southern charter A.D. 680 (‘Cart. Sax.’ 50); while the same first element is seen in 1oth-cent. charters re­lating to land in Somerset-‘on Loxan- wuda,’ ‘de Loxan-wode’ (‘Cart. Sax.,’ 959, 1313).
