Robert Ludlam was a Roman Catholic priest of this county, who suffered martyrdom for his religion at Derby in 1588 (W.). Ludlam was the name of a Barlborough family in the 17th century (G.). Thomas Ludlam, of Whirlow, was a Roman Catholic priest in the reign of Elizabeth (W.).
