MACINREOCH: Gaelic An riabhach, 'the brindled one.' Malcolm M'Anreoch was tenant on lands in the lordship of Menteith, 1530 (RMS., III, 933). Donald Mclnreoch, 1607 (RPC.). John Dow Mclnriache in Tomachlagane and Muldonich Mclnriauch in Glenlyoun were fined in 1613 for reset of Clan Gregor (RPC., XIV, p. 631,633). Duncan Dow McInrioch in Megerney was charged with illegal carrying of firearms, 1618 (ibid., XI, p. 372,415). Duncan M'lnroich in Drumora, parish of Killean, 1694 (Argyll Inv.). An Riabhach is also a common name for the Devil.
