Complaint was made against Duncan Roy Mclltumoer (for Mclnternoer), tenant and servant of James Campbell of Arkinglas, 1579 (RPC., III, p. 235). John Mclntowarner in Curichiracn and Duncan Roy Mclntowamer in Glenlochie were charged with illegal carrying of arms in 1618 (RPC., XI, p. 372). The editor of "Extracts from the Duntroon Papers" [Genealogist, XXXV, p. 231) suggests that the name (and also Turner) was originally Makantorrunn, 'son of the thunder' or 'son of the thunderer' (G. torrunn), which is etymology run mad.
