David M'Kowne or M'Kownne, notary in Glasgow (Protocols). John M'Kewne was retoured heir of John M'Kewne, portioner of Durisdeir, avi, 1643 (Retours, Dumfries, 180). Andrew M'Keun, shoemaker in Kirkcudbright, 1750 (Kirkcudbright). Some Mackeowns in Galloway have changed to Macewing. Old: M'Keun, M'Kounne.
