Gilchreist M'Quhury, fisher, burgess freeman of Glasgow, 1600 (Burgesses), and the name also occurs in Glasgow in 1618 as McQuhurrie and in 1707 as McCwerie (RUG. ). Lachland M'Quhurie was tenant of part of Glenharrie, Kintyre, in 1605 (HP., III, p. 83), and John M'Quhinich appears in Kilunichellbeg, 1672 (ibid,, II, p. 214).
