The Manin family, originally known as Manini, was a noble Venetian lineage that rose to prominence in the 17th century. Luigi Manin secured the family's entry into the Venetian patriciate in 1651, and his son Octaviano became a Procurator of St. Mark. The family's most notable member, Ludovico Manin, served as the 120th and final Doge of Venice, abdicating in 1797 during Napoleon's occupation.
