Marčeta (Marcheta) is my surname and I would want to share the history of this surname according to my sources. Our ancestry is from Dalmatia but that was in the distant past. In the common history, our homeland is in the village Uvala, near Drvar (now BiH). The oldest Marcheta that is shown on our family tree is born in the 1770s and his name is Djujan. From back then it was a pure Serbian surname, and we are 98% Serbs (I heard from some people with this surname that are Croats but that's very rare). After 1945. some of us moved (my family) to Vojvodina to fill empty land after the Yugoslavian victory in the World War. The next biggest migration was after 1990s civil wars in ex-Yugoslavia where Bosnians expelled Serbs from Drvar.
