John Barne alias Makcarmich, sheriff-messenger in Perth, 1528 (Milne, p. 193), appears in 1530 as Joh. Makcarmich "unum marorum vic de Perth" (RMS., III, 975). Duncan McCarmik and Patrick McCarmik were tenants in Ochterneid, Kynnarde, 1539 (ER., XVII, p. 672), Duncan Makarmeich was charter witness at Balquhidder, 1549 (HP., IV, p. 32), Cristina Mykcarmy appears in Glasgow, 1552 (Protocols, I), John M'Armick in Botary, 1633, and Ketye Mackarmich there, 1636 (Presb.
