Donald McLergai is recorded in Tormistell, 1733, John M'Illergin in Ruist was denounced rebel, 1675 (HP., I, p. 296), John McIlergan was tenant of Nerebie, Islay, 1733, and John McLergan in Craigfad, 1741 (Bk. Islay, p. 548,552, 558). Neill M'Lergan was changekeeper in Machry Coul before 1755 (Isles). Many of this name in Islay now call themselves Maclean.
