MACOMISH, Macgomish: Gaelic Mac Thomais, 'son of Thomas. ' Jo. M'Comes is recorded in Fowlis, 1618 (Dunblane), and Donald McHomas was boatman at Inverbreakie, 1688 (RPC., 3. ser. XIII, p. 241). Archibald M'Comash in Inralegan, parish of Innerchelan, 1696, is probably Alexander M'Hamish in Knockdoue, in the same parish, 1699 (Argyll Inv. ). Donald M'Comash, a Seaforth tenant, 1721 (HP., II, p. 297), Duncan M'Homash in Callander, 1726 (Dunkeld), and John Makcomius died in 1777 and was buried in Lennel churchyard. McKomash 1662.
