Gebon is written several times for Gilbert in a document of 1455 (M'Kerlie, I, p. 99), Donald McAne Gibsoun in Ballemuling, Tiree, 1541, appears in another place as McAneegibboun (ER., XVII, p. 614,647). Donald M'Gybbon was sheriff to Duncan, lord of Inneryn, 1511 (Lamont, p. 31), and an instrument of sasine by Duncan M'Gybbon of Auchnegarryn in 1525 is in record (ibid., p. 36). Adam McGibbone, parishioner of Duthil, 1527 (Grant, III, p. 269), Thomas Makgibboun, minister at Monydie, 1574 (RMR.), and Duncan M'Gibbon was one of the duke of Atholl's fencible men enrolled in Glenlyon, 1706 (HMon., III, p. 215).
