Gillipetair mac Donnchaidh is a witness in the Book of Deer. Thomas Moir McGillifedder is in record in 1607 (RPC. ), and Duncan M'Fater appears in Deochaig, parish of Kilblaan, 1694 (Argyll Inv. ). McIllepheder and McIllephedrin 1704, McIllephedder 1706. The name is probably sometimes Anglicized Peters. See also Malpeter.
