A remission was given Maldowny McRobi in Moray in 1363 (REM., p. 164), and James Makroby was tenant in Blalok, Cromar, in 1539 (ER., XVII, p. 66). Francis McRobie and George McRobie in Kinbothok were charged with violence in 1607 (RPC., VII, p. 393). Allister Cain McRobbie, sometime in Urchine, is in record in 1614 (Cawdot, p. 227), Donald McRobie and John McRobie in Kilvean appear in 1646 (Culloden, I, p. 48), and John MacRobbie was a residenter in Huntly in 1797 (Moray). Maccrobie and Macrobie arc also current forms of the name.
