The origins of the surname, Milina, derives in ancient history. Allegedly it originates from Kórkyra Mélaina or Mélaina Kórkyra (Greek for the Croatian Island, Korčula, in the Adriatic Sea) which means "Black Island". Later Kórkyra became the name for the island, Korčula, and Mélaina became surname Milina. There's no written proof of that but that's what I was told by my ancestors and people from the Island of Korčula.
