Monach or Moynacne filius Alpini witnessed a deed by Bricius de Ardrossane to Insula Missarum, 1271, and is witness to other Inchaffray charters, and also witness to one Montrose and four Atholl charters of the same epoch (Inchaffray, p. 92,111, 289) Donald Monech McGilligowy and Johnne Monach his son, servitor to provost of Kilmun, were charged with violence to Dame Jeane, lady of Ardkinglas, 1596 (RPC., V, p. 322).
