John Moscrop was burgess of Jedworth m 1426 (Melros, p. 533), Patrick Moscrop, witness at Crunzeltoun, 1461 (Laing, 145), and Andrew Moscrop was provost of the town in 1558 and sheriff of Roxburgh "in hac parte" (ER., XIX, p. 439). John Moscrop was bailie and burgess of Jedburgh in 1647 (Inquis., 331), and juror on a retour of special service in Duns in 1672 (Home, p. 194). John Mosscropt is recorded in Blaiklaw in 1696 (Peebles CR.), and Alexander Moscrop in Bartelshill in 1730 (Lauder). Moscrope 1658.
