It still exists as a forename and surname. Cosmungo appears c. 1190 (REG., p. 89) as one of the witnesses to the Diuise de Stobbo, and Mungo appears in Bums's "Tam o' Shanter."
(Celtic) Gentle - Beloved [Welsh mwyn, gentle + cu (mutation-form gu), beloved] Mwyngu or Munghu was a pet-name given to Kentigern, the patron-saint of Glasgow, who passed a portion of his life in Wales.
