The Mutsaa people come from Chipinge, in the Manicaland region of Zimbabwe. Mutsaa originates from the Dhliwayo lineage. Thus they share the same totem which is Beta, meaning 'ishwa', which when translated to English is termites. Mutsaa is ndau meaning 'humble'. Nicknamed after an adulterous man who would sleep with other villagers wives, but when called to the village council meetings ,he would be very apologetic such that they would let him go. Yet still he never stopped his evil deeds. They nicknamed him Mutsaa, because of how he would be very humble and apologetic in their courts.
