The Nyamombes are originally from the Mozambique and Zimbabwe Manicaland. They were children of Chief Munyarari who was castrated for bedding his warriors' wives while they went to war. His children fled north with lots of cattle, hence the nickname One with lots of cows. Their totem is a Soko baboon, sometimes disguised as Nyathi. Some are sons in laws of the Makoni Nyathi chief.
