PINFOUND: The same as the Cornish name Penfoune, Penfowne. Tonkin mentions Penfoune as the name of a place in Poundstock. Hals renders Pew-fon, now Penfowne in Poundstock, "the head well, spring of water, or fountain;" but it more probably means "the head of the well."
