Duncan Petite or Petyt was prebend of the church of Arne in 1415 (Ayr, p. 9), Richard Petit was vicar of Stewynstoun in 1427 (ibid., p. 82), Robyn Petyt was witness in Ayr in 1471 (Friars Ayr, p. 54), and Patrick Pettyt was chaplain in the same town in 1476 (ibid., p. 55). John Pettit is recorded in Edinburgh in 1473 (CDE., p. 48). James Petie, indweller in St. Andrews, 1697 (Edin. App.).
(2) Fergus de Pety in the parish of Fyvy was excommunicated in 1382 (REA. I, p. 213).
