Walterus Phyne, merchant burgess of Edinburgh, was heir to Margaret Phyn, daughter of quondam William Phyne, 1630 (Inquis. Tut., 465). Magister John Phin was heir to his sister, 1634 (Inquis., 2095). Alexander Phine, one of the elders of Keith, Banffshire, 1648 (Strathbogie, p. 88). Mr. George Phinn, minister of Slamannan, 1669 (Sasines, 1481), and Henreta Phinn was retoured heir of Mr. George Phinn, minister in the church of St. Laurence, 1696 (Retours, Fife, 1392; Retours, Linlithgow, 280).
