PINKENY: Two brothers, Henry de Pinkeny and Robert de Pinkeny, prominent in Scots affairs on the English side, 1272-1307 (Bain, II), derived their name from Pinkney in Norfolk. A Gilo de Pincheni, who lived in the reign of Henry I (1100-35), endowed the monks of St. Lucien in France with lands at Wedon in the county of Northampton (Lower). Robert de Pinkeny held the tenement of Balincref before 1296 (Bain, II, 857).
