The grandfather of the above was John Bennett of Pitthouse. Oddly enough, his younger brother is styled in the same document Thomas Bennett, alias Pitt. And Bennett, alias Pite of Knockbillingsby, County Limerick and Wiltshire, appears in Burke's General Armory, ed. 1878. (Communicated by T. Paul Rylands.)
