John de Pulhore of the diocese of Durham is in record, 1339 (Pap. Lett., II, p. 546). This surname is early found in connection with Perth, Henry Pulour being bailie there in 1379 (ER., III, p. 21). Andrew Pullour was tenant in Balmyle, 1473 (Cupar-Angus, I, p. 182), and Robert Pullour was tenant of the fishings of Camsy, 1474 (ibid., I, p. 222). Sir Alexander Fouler was chaplain to Sir Alexander Ramsay of Bamff, knight, 1534 (Bamff, p. 35), and John Pullour, witness in Perth, 1547 (Rollok, 43).
