Walter Rosie appears in Mey, Caithness, 1661 (Caithness), and John Rossie in May was to be apprehended as a rebel, 1670 (RPC., 3. ser. III, p. 194). The form Rosey is found in Orkney. John Rosie died in Edinburgh, 1941.
