ROSCRUGE: Hals says the estate of Roscruge, in the parish of St. Anthony in Kerrier, "gave name and original to a family of gentlemen now or lately in possession thereof." Polwhele translates the surname Roecreege, the valley of the barrow (creeg, a barrow). Pryce renders Roscreege, as well as Roscrow, the valley cross. Roskruge, Roscrowgie, and Rescrouge are doubtless the same name. He also renders Crow-gie, cross hedge. But see Roscrow.
