This surname means 'of the Rusyns'. This isn't in reference to Russians, but to the Lemkos, Kievan Rusyns as well as others. Although from research it appears that the Boykos are more of a Jewish people with many different families in Israel claiming to have a surname from the Boykos. It originates from Zarkapats'ka Oblast, Ukraine.
