Arne Saknussemm becomes Arna Knus Semmes. Read it backwards and it makes Semmes Sunk Arna. Arna is Icelandic for 'powerful eagle' Semmes - 'sunk the powerful eagle'. This cipher has only just been discovered after over 150 years and is a homage to Raphael Semmes from Verne for providing the inspiration for his most famous character Captain Nemo.
