Most of the people bearing the name Segadães have origin in the region of Valença. There are three Families with the name Segadães, already identified wich migrated: one to Angola (circa 1920) - all members leaving now in Portugal since 1975 - independence of Angola - except one mam who returned to Angola; two groups migrated (different ancestors) to Brasil (one of this families changed the original name from Segadães to Segadaes (date and reason unknown). This three groups have known ancestors from the region of Valença in Portugal.
