Richard de (error for 'le') Seriant, witness to a confirmation charter by Henry de Graham, c. 1200 (Neubotle, p. 7) may be the Richard Sergant who is witness again about the same date (Cambus., 73). Andrew le Serjaunt and Nicol le Serjaunt of Linlithgow rendered homage, 1296 (Bain, II, p. 198), and in the same year a writ was issued to the sheriff of Edinburgh in behalf of Nicholas le Sirjaunt (ibid., II, 832). John Sergaunt was a witness in the enqui ' concerning the Templars, 1309 ( Wilkins, Concilia, p. 383).
