Many if not all people born with the last name Shallwani (sometimes spelled Shalwani) are descendants of a man named Shalloo (sometimes spelled Shaloo or Shalu) who lived in what is now known as Pakistan in the 1800s. Shalloo had 5 sons - Hood (whose descendants have taken the name Hoodbhoy), Khatou, Valimohammed, Peerdino, and Kassim. Most of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren continue to carry forward the name Shalwani or Shallwani.
