Dungall Achinyane in Wigtownshire, 1488 (RMS., II, 1769), and John Aschennan was retoured heir of Cuthbert Aschennane of Park, killed at Pinkiecleuch, 1548 (Retours, Kirkcudbright, 1). Robert Aschennane in Culquha, 1566 (Laing, 801) may be Robert Aschennane, heir of Robert Aschennane of Dunjop, 1581 (Retours, Wigtown, 200). Robert Aschennane, perhaps the same person, had sasine of the lands of Torhous McKie 1582 (ER., Xai, p. 473). John Shennane was master of a family in the parish of Buittle, 1684 (RPC., 3. ser.
