SHARPRAW: Quondam Thomas Scharpioo held a tenement in Dumfries before 1519, and Sir William Scharpro, a cleric, mentioned in 1561 (Edgar, p. 233,239), is probably William Sharpro, minister at Tongland, 1574 (RMR.). William Scharpro, witness in Galloway, 1566 (Laing, 801). A charge was made against John Sharpraw in Closeburn parish in 1671 (lust. Rec., II, p. 59).
