Sharrock and Shorrock are old Lancashire names. Thomas Shorrocks, Esq., was a Salford boroughreeve in 1771 (B.). John Shorrock was minister of Newchurch in Rossendale in 1767; De Shorrok and De Schorrock were names characteristic of the original parish of Whalley in the 13th and 14th centuries (W. W.).
