SPITTELAUT: David Spittelaut was admitted burgess of Aberdeen, 1535 (NSCM., I, p, 53), and in 1538 the wife of David Spilyelaucht was punished for her "hawy and gryt strublens" of David Reid, and eight years later David Spilyelaucht himself was condemned "to be brint on the left hand with ane het irne" (CRA., p. 155,246). Spellings are as in original, but there is some error in the original, transcription.
