Mr. Lower writes, partly quoting Mr. Ferguson, 'In Old Norse bokki means "vir grandis, corpore et animo." Hence Storbocki, from slde, great, "vir imperiosus."' This may be true, but I take it that Starbuck is simply the local Starbeck. The surname still remains in the West Riding.
