Syncopated farms of Steven, which see. Found in Fife, the Lothians, Ayrshire and Roxburghshire. Alan Steyn was a monk of Kilwinning Abbey, 1557. John Steyne was burgess freeman of Glasgow in 1575, and James Stein in 1583 (Burgesses).
