'son of Symon,' which see. Andreas filius Simonis and Jacobus filius Simonis in Paert (Perth) in reign of William the Lion (Scon, p. 29). William filius Symon, witness, 1178 (RAA. I, 2), Walterus filius Symon is, tenant in vill de Moffat, 1376 (RHM., , p. lxii), and Henry Symonis, witness in 1499 (Cawdor, p. 101). Mr. Andrew Symonis, vicar of Abirdene, was admitted burgess of the town in 1479 (NSCM., I, p. 2).
