TALORC: The Gaulish personal name Argiotalus in reverse. It means 'silver brow,' 'bright browed'-talo-s, 'forehead, brow,' Old Irish talas, W. tal; and arg, 'silver, white,' seen in Gaelic airgiod, 'silver.' Adamnan (I, 20) mentions Baitanus gente nepos Niath Taloirc, 'Baetan descendant of Nia Taloirc,' i.e. of Talorc's champion. Talorc here "probably the name of a divinity" (Watson I, p. 299). Talorgg filius Drostain was put in chains by his brother Nechtain, 713 (AU.).
