Jacobus Terras, succentor of Moray, 1569 (REM., p. 395). Anna Tarres was retoured heir of James Tarres, formerly bailie of Elgin, in a tenement in Abirdene, 1669 (Retours, Aberdeen, 396). A pension was paid to Elizabeth Tarras in Edinburgh, 1732 (Guildry, p. 144), and David Tarras appears in Peterhead, 1783 (Aberdeen CR.). The name of John Turras of Old Meldrum, a Jacobite of the '45, may be a misspelling.
