Thorsteinn, 'Thur's stone,' Normanized Turstan, Turstan de Crectune (Crichton) who witnessed David's great charter to Holyrood, c. 1128 (LSC., p. 6) may be Turstan filius Levingi, a. 1158 (ibid., p. 7). Radulf filius Turstain was witness to David's great charter to Melrose, a. 1153 (Nat, MSS., I, 17). Malcolm filius Malcolmi Thurstan, c. 1330, is again referred to at same date as Malcolmus filius Malcolmi filii Thurstan (RHM., I, p. 39, 40).
