Walter Tyndell or Tindell held a tenement in Brechin in 1493, and John Tendale was a witness there in 1552 (REB., I, 233; II, 136). Patrick Tindaill resigned part of the lands of Craigmakeren in 1586 (Scon, 234), David Tindall appears as burgess of Lanark in 1587 (RPC., IV, p. 239), and Cathraine Tindaill was resident in Edinburgh in 1638 (Inquis., 2341).
