TREGARRICK, TREGARICK, TREGARREK: From Tregarrick in the parish of Roche, formerly the seat of this family, of which John Tregarrick was M. P. for Truro, temp. 7 Rich. II. Tregarrick is also the appellation of places in Menheriot and Pelynt. The name is from trecarrick, the dwelling by the rock; or the same as Tregerrick or Tregery, which Pryce renders the green or fruitful place, or the dwelling of love.
