VIPOIG: This name, found in the Pictish Chronicle (CPS., p. 6) as the name of one of the early Pictish kings, is a curtailed form of Vepogenos, a name which occurs in the genitive in the Colchester tablet already referred to under Veda as Vepogeni. The Vep. Corf, i.e. Vep. Cor. F. of early British coins found in Yorkshire (Evans, Coins of the ancient Britons, p. 411—413) might be for Vep(ogenus) Cor(otici) F(ilius). The full name appears to mean 'Raven's offspring.'
