Vomaji Surname Meaning

User-submitted Reference

Sri Vomaji was a 16th-century Telugu poet and a witty court advisor to King Devachadiyan of the lesser known Chinnapedranagara Empire in what is now Andhra Pradesh.

He was born into a poor family. Despite a lack of formal education, his sharp intellect and clever solutions to problems, often through humor, made him a famous and respected figure, earning him the title as the king's Chadaddugga (most talented poet).

Once when a rowdy British officer, subordinate to General Dyer, accosted the king on his morning walk, Sri Vomaji valiantly fought him off with nothing but his bare feet (as an avid practicer of the Indian martial art kaaljagdalu, which involves focusing the power of the entire body into one's legs, effectively turning them into weapons of calculated destruction). The king was so impressed he immediately awarded him the Chinnapedranagarakrishnashiva Title of Eternal Loyalty.

Legend says that he lived to be 202 and only died because of the famine that spread over Chinnapedranagara, after he sacrificed his own food and body for the welfare of the people and animals of the empire (this is entirely apocryphal with no trusted sources confirming this to be true, however it is widely believed by the local population).

Sri Vomaji lived his entire life as a brave, kindhearted, gentle, courageous, valiant, spearheaded, focused, intellectual, witty, generous, altruistic, charming, cheerful, positive, radiant, wonderful, outstanding, loyal, marvelous, creative, and most of all powerful individual. Without his contributions, life as we know it today in Chinnapedranagara would be very different. He is truly one of the most underrated figures in history.

His descendants have gone on to open--

  • Vomaji Public School

  • Vomaji Private School

  • Vomaji General Hospital

  • Vomaji Post Office

  • Vomaji Drug Rehabilitation Centre

  • Vomaji Shopping Gala Centre (for the disadvantaged)

  • Vomaji Police Station

  • Vomaji College of Film Studies

  • and many more...... spread throughout Southern India

He has made the name Vomaji into one that is to be carried with the utmost pride.

Hence, to be a Vomaji is to be a brave, kindhearted, gentle, courageous, valiant, spearheaded, focused, intellectual, witty, generous, altruistic, charming, cheerful, positive, radiant, wonderful, outstanding, loyal, marvelous, creative, and most of all a powerful individual.
